At the 4-star campsite Camping Sandaya Les Mathes in Aquitaine, you’ll find everything you need for a holiday with the whole family. With luxurious facilities, sunny weather, the sea close by, and plenty of sights in the area, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Take a dip in the pool Thanks to the campsite’s excellent location, you can be at the beach in just 15 minutes. Prefer to stay on-site? Take a dip in the pool. There’s a spacious outdoor pool with fun water slides or a heated indoor pool if you prefer. Of course, there’s also a paddling pool for the little ones. The kids certainly won’t get bored here, while you can keep an eye on them from the comfort of a sun lounger. Activities for the kids When the kids need a break from swimming, they can head to the playground. The bouncy castle is a big favourite here. There are also fun workshops and sports activities organised for children. In the evening, they can join the mini disco. End the day with a family meal at the pizzeria. There’s also a small shop if you’d rather cook yourself. Or why not enjoy a barbecue at the communal BBQ area? Attractions for the whole family Do you like to combine swimming and sunbathing with a fun day out? Then you’re in luck, as there’s plenty to do in the area. For starters, La Palmyre is less than 10 minutes away. This stunning zoo is home to around 1,600 different animals. You’ll be greeted by flamingos as soon as you enter. Beyond the zoo, there are lots of charming towns with attractions nearby, such as Bourcefranc-le-Chapus (18 km) and Rochefort (39 km). Breathe in the sea air What makes Camping Sandaya Les Mathes special is its proximity to the coast. It’s a perfect area for walking, cycling, and simply enjoying the fresh sea breeze. Be sure to visit one of the nearby islands too. The island of Oléron is particularly worth a trip. Known as the “Île lumineuse,” it owes its name to the way the sunlight beautifully illuminates its beaches. On the island, you’ll find places like Saint-Pierre-d’Oléron, a lovely village to wander through.
