A holiday feeling on a private island Going on a holiday on a private island? That’s probably the dream of many a holidaymaker. This dream can come true at Sandaya L’Île des Papes campsite. This French campsite is located on an island in the middle of the River Rhône, and everything is close at hand. Your children can have fun in the swimming pool while you enjoy a deliciously refreshing drink on the restaurant’s terrace. If it’s a day of culture that you want, try beautiful Avignon. There are plenty of lovely passageways and monuments in this beautiful French town. Dream away on the river Camping Sandaya L’Île des Papes is located in Provence in the south of France. The campsite is an oasis of green on its own island in the River Rhône. You won’t be surprised to learn that the countryside is beautiful here. But it’s not just the countryside around you that you can enjoy, you can also visit the loveliest towns in this part of France, with their many monuments. Campers come to Sandaya L’Île des Papes to enjoy the countryside and swimming, but the many lovely towns are also popular. A leisure pool for everyone There is plenty for children to discover at the campsite, including the water playground, naturally. A playground might be fun, but a water playground is even better. Your children can have the time of their lives on the play equipment and slides in the middle of shallow water, while at the same time you can take a swim in one of the other pools. Swimming is not allowed in the Rhône but you can certainly cast a line. If you fancy a day on the beach, you can be standing with your feet on the warm Mediterranean sandy beach in just over an hour’s drive. From kids club to sports tournaments When the children have had enough of swimming, L’Île des Papes has not just one kids club, but three. Something for everyone. The youngest up to seven years will have plenty of fun with games and handcraft in Club Kids. Children from eight to twelve can enjoy games and sports in Club Juniors. Teenagers can let themselves go if they want to, in Club Teens, with plenty of sport. Active people of all ages will have a great time at Camping Sandaya L’Île des Papes. There are many opportunities for walking and cycling trips in the beautiful surroundings. If you don’t take your own bikes, you can rent them from the campsite. If it’s some competition you want, have fun with jeu de boules, badminton, football, basketball and volleyball. After a day filled with swimming and sport, it’s off to the campsite restaurant you go, or pick up a snack in the snack bar. The nearest supermarket is ten kilometres away, but the campsite’s own supermarket has enough on offer for a delicious homemade meal. Avignon and all its beauty After all that swimming, sport and wonderful relaxation, maybe you want a bit of culture? There are plenty of beautiful things to discover close to the campsite. How about Avignon? This beautiful town is about eight kilometres from the campsite. Avignon is a gem to be discovered with its unique bridge and the Pope’s Palace. This world-famous palace is a great place for the whole family to visit, they even have special guided tours for families with children. If you are on holiday in July at Camping L’Île des Papes, you can experience the Avignon Festival with theatre for young and old. If you want to visit even more places, the towns of Orange, L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Arles are a bit further away, but well worth the effort.
