The UNESCO listed town of Aquileia is an important archaeological discovery site with beautiful art treasures. Grado is a lively resort with a charming historical centre that is closed to traffic. Trieste, with its beautiful Miramare Castle, the stunning architecture at Udine and Pordenone with its palaces, and Venice which is within easy reach by train are some of the other highlights in the area.
